After two days recovering from the ordeal of the trip to Phi Phi, the intrepid voyagers loaded onto 3 unstable longboats for a full-day odyssey around Phi Phi and surrounding islands. Continuing with the common thread of dangerous journeys, our captain appeared to be suffering even more than Hennessy and nodded off repeatedly whilst negotiating the choppy seas. These same choppy seas assisted Pasternak and others in ridding themselves of their hangovers over the side of the boat. Peter and Gavin, armed with Peter's under-water camera, captured the days action. |

| At
Shark Point, several people were lucky enough to see a black tipped reef
shark. The story was told like this:
Petra: I saw a tuna! Michael Pasternak: I saw a shark! It was pretty big, about 4 or 5 feet. Mark: I SAW A SHARK! It was HUGE!! At least as big as a man!! OH my GOD! I tell you Gav it was bloody HUGE. Ah, jesus, I crapped myself! I got out of there in a hurry! I tell you it was a least two meters... etc. etc. |

| The group also spotted octopus, trumpet fish, and stunning corral beds, as well as some European flabbyguts.. A fun trick we developed was to throw our lunch of fried rice over the first diver to enter the water. This meant they were attacked by hoards of small fish (see below) with poor eyesight, who could mistake a white European for a grain of long rice. |
